After years of speculation, a reboot of The Office could be in the works at NBC.

 

According to Deadline, NBC is hoping to reboot the popular comedy series for it’s new streaming service, Peacock.

 

The reboot could fit NBC’s strategy for Peacock, as the service has already announced Battlestar Galactica, Saved by the Bell and Punky Brewster. NBCU just reacquired the rights to The Office from Netflix for $500 million.

 

Not everyone though is excited about an Office reboot. Steve Carell has said multiple times that he does not want to see the The Office return and is worried how the audiences would react to Michael Scott in today’s political climate.
