The Texas Chainsaw Massacre To Be Rebooted Again

The cult classic horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, will be making another modernized comeback with a newly announced reboot. This time around, the reboot will be helmed by Fede Alvarez (director of Evil Dead) and his new production company, Bad Hombre.

Originally reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the franchise’s planned reboot was announced as part of Bad Hombre’s partnership with Legendary Pictures. Aside from the writer Chris Thomas Devlin being attached to the film, neither company has announced any further details regarding the reboot.

“We are looking forward to sparking a new and meaningful relationship with a powerhouse like Legendary,” Alvarez said in a statement.

Following its controversial release in 1974, Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre became a massive success that would leave behind a genre-defying legacy. Due to its widespread popularity, the original film received a handful of sequels, prequels and reboots.
