Sting Is Pushing for One More Match at WrestleMania Vs. Undertaker

For fans of professional wrestling, perhaps the most elusive holy grail is a match between WCW icon Sting (Steve Borden) and WWE legend The Undertaker (Mark Calaway). However, while this may seem like more of a pipe dream than ever at this juncture, the former isn’t ruling it out just yet, so long as the bout takes place on the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Sting, who retired in 2016, reflected on his decades-spanning in-ring career, including his dream match with the Phenom.

“If there was a ’Taker situation at WrestleMania, I would listen to that phone call,” Sting said. “I could get in condition and I could pull it off.”

Sting, one of several prolific WCW talents who didn’t make the jump to WWE when Vince McMahon purchased the rival company, he would finally make his WWE debut in 2014 at Survivor Series to help dismantle the Triple H-led Authority. However, his return was short-lived as a botched Buckle Bomb (a Powerbomb into the turnbuckle) by Seth Rollins in 2015 resulted in a severe neck injury.

“I think my career is done,” Sting continued. “I still think about the ‘Taker situation every year, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
